Health and Physical Education Council is teaming up with Global Environmental and Outdoor Education Council to offer a combined Conference in Jasper from May 11-13th hosted at the Jasper Park Lodge.
Keynote: Dr. Douglas Gleddie
We are very excited to have Dr. Douglas Gleddie keynote our conference this year. Here is a short bio highlighting Dr. Gleddie:
Dr. Doug Gleddie is a husband and father who also happens to be an Associate Professor at the University of Alberta (Faculty of Education). In a career filled with change, the only true constants have been physical education, the great outdoors, working with kids and, how joy fills the spaces in between. Although it took him a while to fully embrace this epiphanal thought, the journey itself has enabled Doug to work with a wide variety of people and organizations across Canada and around the world. He does his best thinking on a mountain bike or hanging out around a campfire. Doug is looking forward to exploring the theme of ‘NO LIMITS’ through an examination of the benefits of risky play, joy, nature based learning, the human educative instinct and more!
